Bank of America, Countrywide in merger talks: FT 

Bank of America Corp. , the No. 2 U.S. bank, and Countrywide Financial Corp. , the largest U.S. mortgage lender, are in talks that could lead to a joint venture or merger, the Financial Times said on its Web site on Friday.
